RECENT WORK 2025 - ONGOING
DAPHNE
Daphne refers to the nymph from Greek mythology who transformed into a laurel tree to escape Apollo. In my sculpture, that metamorphosis takes on a tangible form. The head appears to remain part of the human world, while the organic elements already point toward something else—as if the transformation does not occur in a single instant but moves slowly through the body, an inner movement.
YESTERDAY, TOMORROW
The sculpture is an assemblage of two heads. Each is looking in a different direction. One looks towards what has been, the other towards what is yet to come. The past and the future meet in the stillness of the moment.
SELENE AND EOS (THE WATCHERS)
Inspired by Selene and Eos—the Greek goddesses of the moon and the dawn—this work portrays two moments on the threshold of consciousness. One watches over the silence of the night, while the other heralds the awakening. Two figures that alternate, yet remain inextricably linked.
THE ILLUSION OF (NOT) THINKING
A tranquil head rests on the plinth, whilst a long, upward-reaching form seems to grow out of the head like a thought, an impulse or an inner current that defies grasping. The sculpture balances between stillness and movement, between presence and absence.
With subtle surrealist elements, The illusion of (not) thinking explores how we try to understand consciousness, identity and inner stillness — and how elusive they ultimately remain.
BEFORE THE DAWN
That fragile moment between sleep and awakening — a state in which dreams are still reverberating and reality has not yet fully presented itself.
